Minutes of the Meeting French Township , St. Louis County, Minnesota
Township Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at the Side Lake Recreation Center at 7 pm.

The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved.
The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read.
Fire Report
There were 2 fire calls and 4 EMS calls in June.
Old Business
There will be a meeting held for Wall Street Residents on August 18th @ 7:00 PM. U of M Extension Service, MPCA, PFA will be in attendance.
New Business
Tom Staniger presented the Board with proposed tax levies being considered by the Hibbing School Board. Ronn will follow up and attend the next School Board meeting to voice concerns.

The minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read. The Board directed the Treasurer to transfer $15,000 from Fire Savings to Fire Checking. Fire Report There was 1 fire call and 3 EMS calls in May. Old Business After discussion, a motion was made, seconded, and carried to retain Como Oil to provide propane to the post office building. A quote was received from Ulland Brothers to crush 800 ton of class five gravel in the amount of $22,240. A motion was made, seconded and carried to accept the quote. Quotes were received for re-roofing the Pavilion Building: Bill Nelson Construction $8180 Eagle Decking & Roofing $7528 This quote was tabled until the Clerk can clarify each bit item with the Contractors. New Business A request was made by Greg Ozanich about a conditional use permit for Steve Johnson’s sand pit. Bill will check with the County Planning & Zoning. The bills were approved. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. The Board directed the Treasurer to reinvest the CD maturing in May.
The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read.
Fire Report
There was 1 fire call and 2 EMS calls in May. The department received a 50/50 DNR grant towards the purchase of 2 SCBA’s. Two new firefighters are trained and ready for limited response.

The liquor license applications to the County for Ciao and Riverside Inn were approved.
Received a copy of an easement application submitted to the DNR for an access permit from Todd Carpenter to cross SE of SE and the NE of SE, Sec 23, T60, R21.

The next Water Quality Committee meeting will be held on April 23rd. The Board approved the liquor license applications for Bimbo’s, Riverside Inn, and Side Lake Store.
